Custom Gate

Customize the size, position, and shape of the gate to create a more refined and tailored VR workspace.

What is custom gate?

In VR, a gate is an area for interacting with the real world. In Mixed mode, you can use the hand/controller gate or the central gate, and the custom gate lets you adjust its size and position.

How to find custom gate:

  1. Click the "Desk" button from the main menu.

  2. In the Passthrough tab, look for Custom Gate.


Create

  1. Create a custom gate: In the passthrough tab, go to the custom gate section and click a number button.

  2. Draw the custom gate: Use the first click to set the starting point and the second click to set the ending point, drawing a rectangular custom gate.

  3. Confirm or reset: Click Done to save, or use Cancel to discard and Redraw to try again.

Show/Hide

Up to five custom gates are supported, and the vision panel has numbered buttons that correspond to the You can create up to five custom gates using the numbered buttons in the vision panel. After creation, these buttons work as on/off toggles, and you can also turn gates off from the custom gate sidebar.

  1. Create the custom gate: Follow the steps to create a custom gate as described above.

  2. Toggle On/Off: Once the custom gate is created, press the number button in the vision panel or the "Hide" button in the gate side bar menu to turn the gate on or off as needed.

Pin

When using your PC, custom gates may move if touched by your hands or controller. Use the Pin button in the custom gate menu to lock them in place. This feature is highly recommended when working with custom gates.

  1. Move the custom gate: Position the gate to your desired location.

  2. Pin the custom gate: In the gate menu, press the "Pin" button. This will fix it in its current position.

Unpin

When the gate is pinned, hovering over the gate menu button with your ray will display an unpin icon. Click the icon to unpin the gate and move it freely.
